Ladies,
Our weekend is almost here !

For those ladies that have not been to Oak Island,
The actual address is  142 Jackson Drive, Anahuac  77514    The website with lots of pictures is:
oakislandlodge.net

Directions to the lodge can be found on any map site.  The exit off I-10 is # 810 then you will be turning right onto FM 563 and following it all the way to Oak Island.

Please consider bringing the following items:

You can wear whatever you would be comfortable fishing in (including comfortable shoes with rubber soles - (no black rubber)

Bring your toiletries - Towels and linens are provided

Bring your fishing rods and tackle. Guides will provide gear on boat if you don't want to use yours but you will definitely need it to fish from the pier.

Make sure you have a valid fishing license.

(depending on forecast) Rain jacket and pants

If you normally wear a life jacket you might want to bring that. If not the guides have them on the boat.

Hat

Sunblock and Bug Spray

Pee bucket if you cannot go "off the side" of the boat

Beverages

Stuff to pack a lunch for Saturday in the boat

Anyone have anything else they want to add?

Kathy,

You can tell that this is not your first rodeo.  That just about covers everything that we may want or need.

I confirmed yesterday about our meals.  They will prepare breakfast Saturday morning, and Dinner
Saturday evening.  We are on our own for snacks , lunch Sat and breakfast Sunday.

So, if you want to bring something to snack on, and lunch fixins for the fishing trip, please plan on
doing that.

Also, please remember to bring some extra cash for tipping the guides and bait, which is not included in the cost.

Hi Ladies,

All payments have been received !  See you Friday evening at Oak Island

If anyone gets lost,  call me .

Also, Jackie and I are bringing our kayaks, in case anyone else was thinking of bringing theirs.

If anyone wants to get Shrimp on the way in, you can usually find it at Lazy Pelican , and I think they
stay open till about 6:00, be sure to bring a bucket and bubbler if you are getting shrimp.

I think you can plan on coming to the lodge anytime after 3:00.

Newbie question... I am going to restring my rod. What type of line is everyone favorites? I need to go do that tonight and then get my stuff together. I have been using braid but everyone seems to use something different. Was just curious...

I like Stren Sonic Braid in either 20 pound or 30 pound equivalent. Just be aware though that new braid will feel different until you get it broke in. I've tried Power Pro, Spider Wire and Fins but like the Sonic Braid best. I'm not sure it's still called Sonic Braid or not.
